Security tips
Simple habits that protect your money and your personal data from fraud.

Generic security advice on a fictional website. Lanternvale Bank does not exist, so anyone contacting you in its name is not genuine.
The golden rules
Never share your OTP
A one-time password confirms a payment or login. Nobody from a bank needs it, ever.
We never ask for your PIN
No call, message, email or website from a bank should ask for your PIN, passcode or full card number.
Check before you click
Do not open links in unexpected messages. Type the address yourself or use the official app.
Secure your phone
Use a screen lock, keep your software updated and install apps only from official stores.
Signs of a phishing message
- It creates urgency: 'your account will be closed today'
- It asks for a code, password, PIN or card details
- The sender address or link looks slightly wrong
- It has spelling mistakes or an unusual greeting
- It offers a prize, refund or gift you did not expect
Shopping and paying online
- Only pay on websites you trust and that show a secure connection
- Turn on payment notifications so you see every transaction
- Use card controls to switch online or international payments off when you do not need them
- Check your statement regularly and report anything you do not recognise
If something goes wrong
Freeze your cards in the app straight away, change your app passcode and contact your bank through its official channels. Acting quickly limits the damage.
